Ingredients:

  • Watermelon – Seedless is easiest! Use about 4 cups of cubed ripe watermelon.
  • Lime juice – Adds brightness and helps balance the sweetness.
  • Sweetener – Optional! Use honey, agave, or sugar depending on your preference and how sweet your watermelon is.
  • Water – To thin it out for sipping. Use cold, filtered water.
  • Mint leaves – Optional, for garnish or a subtle infusion of flavor.
  • Ice – For serving.

Steps to Prepare:

STEP 1: Blend the watermelon
Add cubed watermelon to a high-powered blender. Blend until smooth—this should only take about 30 seconds.

Tip: If your blender isn’t very powerful, you can add a splash of water to help get things moving.

STEP 2: Strain (optional)
If you prefer a smoother drink, pour the blended watermelon through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher. Use a spoon to press the juice through and discard the pulp.

STEP 3: Add lime and sweetener
Stir in fresh lime juice and sweetener to taste. Depending on your watermelon, you may not need any added sugar at all!

STEP 4: Serve over ice
Pour into glasses over ice, garnish with fresh mint or lime wedges, and enjoy immediately. You can also refrigerate the juice for up to 3 days.

FAQ's:

Can I use frozen watermelon?

Yes! Let it thaw slightly before blending. It’s a great way to make a slushy-style version too.

Can I make this ahead?

Absolutely. Store in a sealed pitcher in the fridge and give it a quick stir before serving. It may separate a bit while in the fridge, this is normal.

Is it kid-friendly?

Totally! You can skip the sweetener altogether or adjust to your family’s preference.

Can I spike it?

Sure—vodka, rum, or tequila all work well if you want to turn it into a summer cocktail.
