What ingredients are needed to prepare the $10 Cozy Christmas Dinner for Two?

  • 2 Ham Steaks ($5.00)
  • Pineapple Chunks ($3.00)
  • Green Bean Steamer Bag ($2.00)

If you’ve got these pantry ingredients laying around, you are all set to save big!

  • Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Salt and Pepper

Is there any equipment necessary to prepare this Cozy Christmas Dinner for Two?

  • 2 skillets, that’s it!

How to Prepare the $10 Cozy Christmas Dinner for Two:

  • Melt 1 tbsp of butter each, in 2 skillets.
  • Microwave the green beans in the steamer bag as directed and then drop into one of the skillets. Blister and season with salt and pepper. .
  • Drop the ham steaks into the other hot skillet, flip to coat both sides with butter. Let them cook in the butter for 2 – 3 minutes per side, or until warmed through.
  • Combine 1 tsp of vanilla extract with 2 tbsp of brown sugar and crumble over one side of the ham.
  • Place the skillet in the oven to broil for 60 – 90 seconds, just enough time for the sugar to caramelize.
  • Remove the ham steaks to plates, melt 1 more tbsp of butter into the same pan the steaks were in and add 1 more tbsp of brown sugar.
  • Add pineapple chunks to that pan and stir to coat. Cook until soft and golden.
  • Serve pineapple over ham and alongside green beans for a festive holiday meal!

Storage:

Store this meal in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 – 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or over medium heat in a skillet.

This makes for great leftovers the next day!
