Thanks for stopping by!

My first blog post. This is kind of surreal. I've wanted to have a blog, or my own little corner of the internet for as long as I can remember.

A few months back, in the midst of a rather intense cabin fever moment, I was talking with my fiancé about how I really wanted to start cataloguing my recipes and maybe starting to share them on Instagram. It was me dipping my toe in the water.

We've sat at dinner, on the couch enjoying a late night cocktail, in the car on a long drive - in many instances, we've had the conversation about me starting a blog. Somewhere I could organize all of my thoughts, talk with people who are just as passionate about cooking and nutrition as I am, and really just be able to share with the world my passion and use it to learn even more.

I'm not gonna lie, I was terrified to start. I've been cooking forever, but writing down every ingredient, every step, and on top of that taking a photo of every step... without any photography experience?! Forget it. It seemed way too hard.

But he did what he always does, and just convinced me - go for it. Why not? There has honestly never been a better time. So, A Toasted Crumb, a blog about food was born!

I'm so excited to get started! I've got big, BIG dreams for this blog! I built it big just for that. The plan is to grow into the blog. Use it to explore all sorts avenues that I've been interested in for years, and see where it goes.

Building this thing.. it was a beast. A BEAST. I mean, I've been at my computer typing non-stop every minute I wasn't working, eating, cooking, or sleeping, it feels like, for about 2 weeks. And I've still got over 100 recipes to enter - just from the last 2 months! I will get them all in, trust me. But at this point, I've just had to accept, it's just gonna take some time. And that okay, finally.

Thank you so much for stopping by A Toasted Crumb today, even if just for a few minutes! I'm excited to build this website even more, start posting to Facebook and Pinterest regularly, and use this blog to teach the online community about health, happiness, and well-being!

To my sweet soon to be husband, thank you so much for encouraging me to go after my dream. You support me in literally anything I decide to do, but I think with this it's been so different. You drive me every day, and I couldn't be more thankful to stand next to you for the rest of my life. I love you.

My friends and family who've known about my sort of top secret project for the last few months, thank you guys so much for your constant support! I've been surrounded by some life long friends, you know who you are, who've really shown me what real friends are like. I'm so lucky to have you guys.

Lastly, to all of my Instagram foodie followers on @a_toastedcrumb, you guys are the BEST! I've been so welcomed into the foodie community! It's really an incredible group of people! Getting to share your passion with a group of people everyday, see the things they create, and watch them try some of your recipes - there's no feeling like it!

All in all, this was an incredibly sappy post. I'm not the most sappy person. This is just a HUGE project for me, and I'm really happy to be where I'm at right now. Much love.
