These fun island-inspired Pulled Pork Sliders are a play on my Hawaiian Pulled Pork recipe.
These sliders are perfect for the upcoming football season! Juicy, bright, and savory - this pulled pork will leave you (and all of your guests) coming back for "just one more"!

I love tropical flavors! If I can find an excuse to make something that features citrus, pineapple, or soy-based flavors - I am there. These Hawaiian Pulled Pork Sliders hit all of those notes!
I made these while recipe developing for my Game Day Eats E-Book and I was blown away. They are the perfect little juicy snack, and "island vibes" are such a fun surprise for your guests!

To make these Hawaiian Pulled Pork Sliders, you'll need:
- pork shoulder or pork butt
- sugars and spices: coconut sugar, salt, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, cayenne
- sauces, oils, and juices: olive oil, Teriyaki sauce, pineapple juice, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, mayo
- fresh ginger
- sweet onions
- pineapple rings
- Hawaiian Sweet Roll slider buns (2 packages)
- picked red onions

What equipment will I need to make these Pulled Pork Sliders?
- crockpot
- grill pan (for toasting the buns and searing the pineapple rings!)
- baking sheet (optional - for crisping the pork in the oven!)

How do I make the sliders?
Refer to the recipe card for precise measurements.
- Create the dry rub by combining the coconut sugar, salt, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and cayenne.
- Drizzle olive oil over the pork, sprinkle the dry rub on all sides, rub in until it is evenly coated.
- Add the teriyaki sauce, pineapple juice, liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, and grated ginger to the bottom of a crock pot and stir to combine.
- Add the chopped sweet onions on top of the braising liquid.
- Sear the pork in a hot cast iron pan for a few minutes on each side until you get a nice golden crust.
- Transfer the pork into the crockpot and place two pineapple rings on top.
- Cook the pork on low for 8 – 10 hours or on high for 4 – 6 hours. (I recommend the low setting.)
- When the pork has finished cooking, remove the bone and shred using two forks.
- If desired, remove the pork and crisp it on a baking sheet for 3 – 5 minutes in a 425° oven.
- Spread the slider buns with a light layer of mayo and toast lightly in a pan.
- Layer each slider with pork, pickled onion, a half of a grilled pineapple ring, and a drizzle of Teriyaki sauce.

Storage:
The pork used in these sliders makes great meal prep! It's delicious over some simple white rice with a pineapple ring and a drizzle of Teriyaki sauce! Just a deconstructed slider basically. You'll thank me later!
Store the pork in the fridge in an air tight container for up to a week.
I don't recommend storing the sliders pre-made, as they'll get a little soggy. I would store the components in separate containers (I like these deli tubs and meal prep containers), and then make up the sliders when you or your family members are hungry!
