JUMP TO RECIPE

These Pineapple and Ham Skewers will be such hit at your Christmas party! Honey ham and sweet pineapple are brushed with brown sugar glaze and toasted to perfection! Add these to your Christmas buffet for a fun seasonal snack!

I love to add a skewer of some sort of meat and vegetable or fruit to buffet tables. It's the easiest party food! Meat + Veggie/Fruit + Sauce. It's a heavy option for the buffet line with very low effort. Win win in my book! Let's make them!

What ingredients are necessary to prepare Pineapple and Ham Skewers?

  • ½ lb ham (ham steaks are a great option for this!)
  • fresh pineapple wedges
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • dash of salt

Is there any equipment necessary for preparing Pineapple and Ham Skewers?

  • I love to use festive skewer picks during the holidays, here are some cute ones!
  • Mini cookie cutters are fun for making festive shapes out of the ham and pineapple!

How to prepare Pineapple and Ham Skewers:

  1. Slice ham and fresh pineapple into small triangular wedges, appropriately sized for
    your skewers.
  2. Melt the butter in the microwave, add the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add the pineapple and ham to a small skillet over medium high heat.
  4. Pour the melted butter and brown sugar mixture over the ham and pineapple and toss
the skillet to make sure everything gets coated in the butter and sugar mixture.
  5. Let the pan sit on the heat for a few minutes and allow the ham and pineapple to
    caramelize on one side.
  6. Toss the pan, let the ham and pineapple caramelize again and remove from the heat.
  7. Thread the ham and pineapple onto your skewers and serve.

Storage:

These skewers can be store in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 4 days. Reheat in individual portions, or with a tablespoon of water in a saucepan when ready to enjoy again!
