A Toasted Crumb 2.0 - We are back baby!

Published: Sep 1, 2024 Modified: Mar 19, 2025 ·by Amber Bogardus / This post may contain affiliate links.

After nearly two full years away, I’m overjoyed to announce the relaunch of my favorite place in the world, A Toasted Crumb!

I started A Toasted Crumb in 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and spent two full, incredible years pouring my heart and soul into this little custom corner of the internet. A Toasted Crumb, along with the amazing foodie community I had built, became my constant companion through some of the most pivotal moments of my life. This blog journeyed with me as I got married, bought and filled my first home, and learned I was expecting my son.

Then, life took a beautiful yet challenging turn. In 2022, I welcomed my son, Nolan into the world—a moment filled with overwhelming love and, admittedly, a few unexpected hurdles. My son’s arrival, with complications that needed my full attention, shifted my focus entirely. I knew I needed to step back from the blog to be there for my family during a time when they needed me most. (We’ll talk way more about all of that later.)

The past two years have been exciting, exhilarating, exhausting, and emotional – to say the least. After this period of growth, healing, and countless hours spent juggling motherhood and my passion for food, I am just so happy to be back. A Toasted Crumb 2.0 is not just my return to blogging, it’s a renewal of my commitment to bring you brand new delicious recipes, kitchen tips, entertaining guides, shopping guides, and fun lifestyle content (which is new!).

I’ve missed this community so much, and I can’t wait to share all the new ideas and inspirations that have been simmering in my mind during my time away. I've built the framework for the new blog out BIG, BIG - and that was intentional. I can't wait to fill all of these pages and channels with all sorts of new content.

Here’s to a fresh start, and many more crumbs to savor together!

With the relaunch of A Toasted Crumb (which I’m affectionately calling ATC 2.0), you can expect:

  • Food, Food, Food, and more Food! Family recipes, weeknight dinners, appetizers and entertaining guides, healthy things (every now and then), and bits of sweetness (when I can pull it off)! We’re still keeping it real around here.
  • Home Life and Family Moments: Occasionally, I’ll share fun memories and behind-the-scenes glimpses of life with my husband John, my kiddo, and our sweet pup Taco, capturing the little moments that bring our family joy and laughter.
  • Entertaining Tips: I love sharing my favorite tips for hosting gatherings that leave a lasting impression. From easy recipes to fun decorating ideas, I’ll help you create moments that your guests will remember.
  • Hot Spots & Travel: Based in Dallas, I’ll guide you to the best local spots for family outings, romantic date nights, and toddler-friendly adventures. I’ll also share occasional travel tips and favorite destinations when I do get the chance to explore.
  • Motherhood: I love sharing the journey of raising my son nearly two-year old son Nolan. Despite facing some health complications early on, he’s now thriving and embracing life with joy, and I enjoy documenting our experiences and milestones along the way. I hope to create some awareness for CHD and communicate what life can look like after a prenatal diagnosis, as I am all too aware of how common these diagnoses can be.
  • Gardening: As a novice gardener and house plant enthusiast, I’m excited to share my journey of cultivating my green thumb. I’m currently planning a vegetable and edible cut flower garden for my backyard next year, and I’ll be documenting the process and sharing tips along the way.

Thank you so much for joining me for A Toasted Crumb 2.0, this is going to be so fun!

With so much love,

Amber
