Air Fried Pickles

Published: Oct 15, 2020 Modified: Apr 24, 2025 ·by Amber Bogardus / This post may contain affiliate links.

JUMP TO RECIPE

These Air Fried Pickles are EASY PEASY! They're not super fancy, they don't require any crazy ingredients, and they take just about half an hour from start to finish!

They make the perfect happy hour snack, crunchy side dish for a semi-cheat meal, or football Sunday party treat!

The best part - they don't make your entire kitchen smell like fried food. They're air fried! Give em' a shot for your next event! This recipe can easily be scaled up or down dependent on the size of your crowd.

You'll need:

  • 20 - 30 Hamburger Dill Chips
  • Paper Towels
  • Kosher Salt
  • 1 Cup of All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Auntie Nono's Everything Seasoning (or any other multi purpose seasoning, this one's just my favorite!)
  • 2 teaspoon Paprika
  • ½ Cup Pickle Juice
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 ½ Cups Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon (or more) Cayenne Powder
  • Cooking Spray
  • Your Trusty Air Fryer

Directions:

  1. The key to making this recipe easy? PREP. Grab yourself a half cookie sheet, some paper towels, and 3 shallow bowls.
  2. Place the flour, Auntie Nono's Everything Seasoning, and paprika in the first bowl. Whisk to combine.
  3. Place the 2 eggs and pickle juice in the second bowl, whisk well.
  4. In the third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs, chili powder, and cayenne powder.
  1. Lay the paper towels down on the cookie sheet and lay down all of the pickles in a single layer. Sprinkle lightly with salt, place more paper towels over the top of the pickles, and gently press down. You want to get out a good amount of moisture out of the pickles.

Now you're ready to start breading the pickles! This part is really easy!

  1. Pick up 2 or 3 pickle chips and place them in the flour mixture. Give them a gentle shake to coat each pickle in flour. This can be done individually, but it really isn't necessary.
  2. One at a time, pick up the pickle chip, shake off any excess flour, and dip into the egg and pickle juice mixture.
  3. Shake off any excess egg (That's important! No one likes soggy pickles!), firmly press the back of the pickle into the breadcrumbs. Flip the pickle over and press again on the other side. The pickle should be fully covered in the breadcrumbs.
  1. Liberally spray the bottom of your air fryer with cooking spray. One by one place the pickles into the base of your air fryer into a single layer. Add a light spray of cooking oil to the top of the pickles. This will help get that golden brown color that you want!
  1. Air fry the pickles at 390° for 5 minutes, gently flip, spray, and fry for another 5 minutes!
  2. Do this process in batches until you've made your way through all of the pickles.

That's it! Easy peasy!
