I love to try new smoothie flavors! Little personal fact about me – I used to work for a nutrition clinic and me and a sweet friend of mine wrote custom smoothie menus every week for our guests! Each day we’d make a fun, seasonal smoothie featuring our supplements with fresh fruit. It was something I absolutely loved about that job, and still hold close to my heart today. This Chocolate Cherry Smoothie hit the spot the other day while I was working. Let’s make it!

FAQs:
Can I use fresh cherries?
Yes! Just make sure they are pitted!
Can I use frozen spinach?
I like fresh spinach instead of frozen for smoothies. I feel it creates a better texture than frozen. You get ice crystals and kind of a gritty affect with frozen, in my opinion.
Can I make this ahead of time?
Certainly! Create a little smoothie prep bag by adding the cherries, spinach, sliced bananas, and walnuts to a small sandwich bag. Then combine the yogurt, coconut milk, cocoa powder, and maple syrup in a condiment container and refrigerate. When you’re ready for a smoothie, just add the frozen ingredients to a blender and scoop out the frozen milk mixture into the blender. (This will give your smoothie and extra chill too!) – Make sure to mix the milk and cocoa powder well so it doesn’t clump up.)
