Pomegranate Old Fashioned

A standard old fashioned recipe - christmastized! Sweet pomegranate juice, orange, and spiced cherry bitters give this cocktail classic a festive twist! This Pomegranate Old Fashioned will knock your socks off!

If you know me, you know I love love an old fashioned. I don't mind experimenting with flavors to add some subtle background notes. I love the deep hue this pomegranate juice adds to this old fashioned as well! Such a pretty drink!

What ingredients are necessary for preparing a Pomegranate Old Fashioned?

  • 1 oz pomegranate juice
  • 1.5 oz of a good bourbon
  • 1-2 dashes of spiced cherry bitters - this makes it!
  • large frozen ice cube or sphere
  • orange peel
  • black cherry and orange twist for garnish - if you've got em!

How to Prepare a Pomegranate Old Fashioned:

  1. Pour the pomegranate juice into the glass.
  2. Add the bourbon and spiced cherry bitters. Stir.
  3. Add the frozen ice cube or sphere.
  4. Twist the orange peel over the glass and drop in.
  5. If desired, place a black cherry on a toothpick and drop it into the glass. Curl a thin orange peel and hang off of the rim of the glass.

Ingredients
